One of the hottest topics in our office involves local property tax appeals. Clients come to us every day asking questions like these:

To address the subject, Claremont Realty Group is sponsoring a seminar with local attorneys on Tuesday, November 2 from 7-8:30PM at our offices located at 535 Springfield Avenue in Summit, to discuss your options as a homeowner and a taxpayer. Homeowners in New Jersey pay some of the highest property taxes in the country, which makes this such a compelling issue. Our panel of experts will discuss the pros and cons of re-assessing your home, and how to go about the process with optimal results.

We feel that the trend of lower sales prices in our market area improves homeowner?s chances of appealing the assessed value of their home. For a solid year now, sales prices of comparable homes (or "comps") in many neighborhoods have been falling. With this information in hand, you may have a real case for lowering your tax bill. We are hearing many success stories about local residents whose properties have been given a lower assessment by their municipality.

On October 1, Claremont Realty Group hosted the Summit Educational Foundation?s (SEF) Endowment Fund Launch Party. Over 100 Summit residents and supporters of SEF attended the event which was held in our offices and the breathtaking atrium lobby of the Claremont Corporate Center. Area restaurants and businesses joined us in contrib-uting food and beverage service. The Summit High School Music Department provided music for the evening and SHS Art Department updated our rotating works of art in the CRG office gallery. It was a tremendously successful event for SEF and we were pleased to be a part of it.

Claremont Realty Group just completed an area food drive for the Community Food Bank of New Jersey in cooperation with the Young Professionals Network and NCJAR. We were pleased to deliver several loads of non-perishable goods to NCJAR for the Community Food Bank.
